Raffle Rules & Regulations – "Chinuch Raffle" Campaign 5779

These regulations are written in the masculine form but refer fully to both genders.

The instructions of these regulations are final, and render void any other advertisement or publication.

Participation in the campaign constitutes full and unequivocal consent to the terms of the regulations.

Participation is permitted for individuals ages 18 and over. In the event that the participant is a minor, the communication will be with his legal guardian (usually a parent).

Duration of the campaign: The campaign will begin on the 9th of Iyar 5779, and continue until Thursday, 17 Sivan 5779, ending at 11:30 PM EST. To clarify, Maor organization may extend, shorten, change or cancel the duration of the Campaign at its discretion.

The right to participate in the raffle is by means of a contribution to the Maor organization for a single raffle ticket for $36 or according to the quantity of tickets purchased in the amounts stated on the raffle website. The transaction for ticket purchase may be performed until 11:30 PM EST on Thursday, 17 Sivan 5779. The raffle is a global one and involves families from around the world. The raffle drawing will take place on Thursday, June 20 in the evening – After 11:30 PM Eastern Standard Time.

The winner of the raffle will receive tuition fees for his children: or cash prize of $7,700.
A. The maximum amount of winnings for the entire family is $15,000.00 (in U.S. currency). The minimum amount to be won is $7,700.00. The minimum amount will be paid even if the winner currently has no tuition expenses.
B. The limit for tuition for each unmarried child will be a maximum of $500.00 per month.
C. The tuition is given for religious studies for the family members, including: payment for yeshivas (mesivta and zal ages); for boys' cheder (elementary), girls' cheder (elementary), payment for yeshiva studies in 770, girls' seminaries, children's day care centers, overnight or day camps. Does not include expenses for meals/catering and/or transportation and/or secular studies for any of the above.
D. The winning prize is intended solely for the unmarried children of the winner and is not transferable to family or friends.

The payment will be made as set monthly installments over 12 months' time, and the winner will not be entitled to exercise the right of the entire amount immediately upon winning. Maor leaves the option to make the payment at once or in several installments, as Maor deems necessary.

The calculation of educational expenses will be relative to the data received with the announcement of the prize, and Maor will not supplement additional expenses if the tuition prices of the winner increase during the year. In other words, it will be decided according to the amounts determined that the winner will pay the academic institution for the academic year of 5779 (2019). (In the event that no fixed amount has been agreed upon with the institution, the amount will be calculated according to the amount paid in the year 5778 (2018) ).

Maor reserves the right to contact the academic institution(s) to verify the amount.

After the raffle, the name of the winner will be published on Chabad news sites, and by e-mail sent to all the raffle's participants.

Maor reserves the right to disqualify individuals from participating in the raffle. A participant who has been disqualified from the raffle, will not have any claim against Maor.

The prize will be awarded to the winner within a reasonable time, after coordination and presentation of a legal identification card identical to that of the participant. The prize will be considered as a fulfillment of the obligation to award the prize, and no claim may be made regarding the non-receipt of the prize by the winner. In the event that there will be no claim made to the prize at the allotted time, a subsequent raffle will then be held anew, at a time and place that will be set and publicized with advance notice.

Following the declaration of the prize and/or the awarding of the prize, Maor and/or anyone acting on its behalf have no obligation or responsibility for the campaign itself. Additionally, any participant or winner will not be able to come with any claims or objections against Maor organization.

The participant declares and demonstrates his agreement that Maor and/or its representatives will be entitled to make use of his response/feedback/emotions that will be photographed or documented after the raffle, at their discretion, in all types of media uses.

In any case of disagreement, the purchaser/winner takes it upon himself to deliberate solely and exclusively in a Din Torah at a halachic Beis Din in the Brooklyn neighborhood of New York City.
